Week in Review- Oct 8th-12th by Freddie & Leo G-B

Monday:
We really enjoyed working in partners for PE!  We had fantastic weather for a bit of exercise on our playground.

Tuesday:
We both love Maths!  This week with Mrs. Sales we worked on doubling numbers.  With Mrs. Pell we rounded numbers of any size to the nearest 10, 100 or 1 000!

Wednesday:
Today we learned the hard lesson that if teams don't play fairly, a game can be cancelled.  Luckily, there are so many other fun ways to play together in our huge outdoor learning environment!  (PS. we learned from this and improved our conduct.)

Thursday:
In PE we were learning about playing handball!  This was my favourite lesson today!  I love playing outdoors!

Friday:
Today we carried on with our exciting new writing project...  We have a Pen Pal class in Canada to write back and forth to!  Mrs. Pell's niece is about the same age as us, and she and her teacher came up with this great plan and are equally as excited about writing to us!

Their school is in British Columbia, on the West Coast of Canada.  That is along the Pacific Ocean.  Mrs. Pell told us that there are lots of mountains there and that the times zones makes them 8 hours behind our time!  So when we leave school at 3:15pm, it is 7:15am in BC and their school day hasn't even begun yet!

Hello October!

Cheetahs Blog: Week in Review
Oct 1st – 5th, 2018 by Lucas & Cody
Monday
Today in Maths we did our Daily 10.  We really enjoy this game!  It challenges us and Mrs. Sales can change the amount of time we have to solve problems to help us with trickier questions that involve more than one step.
Tuesday
In English we worked on our story maps.  First we drew the trail (but only one side because we were following instructions brilliantly!).  We needed to make sure we had enough space to write about each part of the story, then we drew the other side of the trail.  That Mrs. Sales is so clever- it worked!

Thursday
In Maths we used number cards to make our own questions for rounding!  We rounded numbers to 10, 100 or 1 000!  Sometimes, we had to round a 4 digit number to the nearest hundred, and other times to the nearest ten or thousand!  We had to read the questions carefully.
Mrs. Pell showed us how to find our school website, then our class blog.  We enjoyed looking at the pictures from Forest Schools and seeing our work online!
Friday
We had our first Spanish lesson about grammar today.  We learned the pronouns for:
I (yo), you-singular (), he/she (él/ella), we (nosotros), they (vosotros), you-plural (ellos/ellas).  We also learned the pattern for how the pronoun affects the spelling of the verb!  Next week we will apply this rule to some real verbs!
Most importantly, we had a fantastic time at WHEELS EVENING!  What a turn out!

And now a few words from Mrs. Pell & Mrs. Sales:
What a fantastic week we have had Cheetahs!  From start to finish you were on the ball this week!  We both saw some fantastic work in your books, cooperation happening in the classroom and it was so lovely to see how proud you are of your work.  Very well done to you all!

The last student blog for September!

Apologies to Callum and Ellie-Marie that I'm a little late posting this...  I was not very well over the weekend!  Thank you for jotting down your ideas!

Cheetahs Blog: Week in Review
Sept 25th – 29th, 2018 by Callum & Ellie-Marie
Tuesday
Today Mrs. Pell popped in to tally up our reading miles!  She did this by checking our homework diaries.
Wednesday
We did Forest Schools today.  It was so fun building a den and making art using the things we found outside!
Thursday
We learnt about invertebrates in Science today.  They don’t have backbones!  Jellyfish are just one example of the many kinds we learned about today!
Friday
We had our Harvest Assembly at Catfield Church today.  We did our play called, From Farm to Fork to explain all of the work involved in growing, harvesting, transporting and storing potatoes before we even buy them from the shop.  We did well to work on our lines this week, but we still need a bit of practice speaking loudly to an audience!

Everyone will have a turn to help write one of our weekly blogs!  Each week, a Year 4 is teamed up with a Year 3 to jot down the highlights of their day over the week.  It is then added to our wonderful blog for everyone to see exactly what delights the children in our class!  In hopes of off-setting the age-old classic:  What did you do at school today?  Nothing.  I don't remember.  ;)
