Popping Speech Bubbles

We all had a laugh in our English lessons last week when converting speech bubbles in comic strips to narrative speech marks!  The students worked together to combine their knowledge of the world to decipher the jokes and we wrote some entertaining narratives as a class on our English Working Wall!  Then the children took to the activity themselves with some superb results!  Have a look!

The Big Sing!

Life-long memories were certainly made by all the children (and staff) at The Big Sing on Thursday 3rd May -it truly was a once in a lifetime opportunity and an event we will still be talking about in years to come.  Of course the cherry on the cake was being the only school selected to have pupils interviewed by the BBC - if you missed the broadcast check out the link on the school website :)  As always, the children sang their hearts out!   What particularly stood out to us all though (including the children) was how kind, caring and thoughtful we are as a school. Both towards each other, adults and children from other schools and the environment - several schools left a huge amount of litter behind but we didn't even have to remind any of our amazing Catfield Cats!  All the staff were extremely proud and more importantly, the children were proud of each other.
