Transition Days!

On Thursday and Friday this week we had to send 4 of our friends up to Mr. Hall's Panther class for a taster of life in Year 5!  But that left the remaining 16 Cheetahs to welcome our up and coming Year 3s...  Now our class is the largest in the school with 29 children!  So, how many Year 3s will we have in our class next year? Can you work it out?

We had so much fun together over the last two days!

On Thursday:
-The children played Snowstorm as a getting to know you activity
-Then we made a Class Book where each page contains everything we already know and love about each friend in our new class!  Everyone got to take home a copy of their own page to share with you!

-We then played Just Like Me to see what interests we all had in common!
-The children also made little booklets about their former teachers and TAs to let us know all about their best qualities that we can try to emulate.  Very interesting reads!  We have some big shoes to fill!
-Finally, we worked together to plan a bar graph of all of our birthdays for our classroom in September. The children worked in mixed groups of 3-4 and they did really well to use the data we collected.

On Friday
-The children did an AMAZING job working together as a whole class to put our birthday display together!  It looks fantastic and I will keep it safe over the summer while all of the improvements are happening at our school.  Thank you for your hard work Cheetahs!  Take a look at what they can already do together with excellent teamwork:

-We played a class favourite game of Who's Missing? and we also taught our new Year 3s how to play a favourite times tables game called Around the World.  Bobby has shown us already that he is a force to be reckoned with!
-Finally, the children wrote a Bucket List of various things they would like to do, try, or accomplish this summer!  More interesting reading for Mrs. Sales and myself!  The children have told us about things they would like to do, friends they hope to visit, things they need to organise, books they'd like to read, new things they want to try, places they hope to visit, a project they want to work on, a collection they want to start and school skills they think they should practice over the summer!

We are very excited about our new class full of colourful characters!  It's going to be a hoot!  See you all next week as we wrap up our current year!
